2nd Workshop on Maritime Computer Vision (MaCVi)

Submission of contributed papers

Authors are encouraged to submit original high quality research papers. Papers accepted and presented at this WACV workshop will be published as part of the WACV Workshop Proceedings and will be included in IEEE Xplore.

Paper submissions should follow the same guidelines as for the main WACV 2024 conference. In particular, the main paper has an 8-page limit, excluding the references. There is no limit on the number of pages in the supplementary material. Please use the official WACV 2024 paper template available on Google Drive. Please note, that at least one author per accepted paper needs to register to the conference by the camera-ready deadline. Accepted papers are supposed to be presented in a 1-2-minute spotlight presentation and there will be a subsequent poster session.

All papers should be submitted via CMT using this link:

Submit results to MaCVi2024 challenges

An integral part of the workshop are the four challenges UAV-based Multi-Object Tracking with Reidentification and USV-based Obstacle Detection, Segmentation and Tracking. These challenges aim to foster the development of computer vision algorithms in SaR missions and autonomous boat navigation, respectively. The UAV-based challenge is mainly based on an updated version of SeaDronesSee whereas the USV-based ones are based on the LaRS benchmark and a new dataset, respectively. This year, the focus of these challenges will be on both accuracy (algorithm performance as measured by challenge-specific evaluation metrics), and runtime on embedded hardware. For certain challenge tracks, we require the method to run in real-time on embedded hardware. Nevertheless, for all other challenge tracks, we require participants to submit the processing speed of their algorithms in frames per second, and specification of the hardware used.

Furthermore, note that there will be prizes for some of the challenges - in particular Sentient Vision sponsors the track UAV-based Multi-Object Tracking with Reidentification. Stay stuned for updates!
There are 4 challenges with multiple subtracks: UAV-based Multi-Object Tracking with Reidentification, and USV-based Obstacle Detection, Segmentation and Tracking..
